Free Financial Education Workshop For College Students, Recent Grads

Young adults who have graduated or will be in their senior year in the fall will be eager to start working and earning a living. But at what point should they begin to think, “What can I do now to achieve my financial and lifestyle goals?” Having a greater understanding of finance management in early adulthood better establishes them for the future.

Bayside Tax & Wealth, a Port Washington-based, full-service financial services firm is offering a free financial education workshop for students who are still in college or have recently graduated. There is no charge for the workshop, which will cover general finance management topics like credit, savings, investing, budgeting, and initial and longer-term financial goals such as buying a car and a home, for example.

“During the end of a young adult’s college years or right after they graduate is the most important time for them to learn about every aspect of their finances,” Bayside & Tax Wealth Founder and CEO Corey Peterson said. “It’s my pleasure to be able to help guide them toward financial stability and success as they begin to mature professionally and financially.”

The workshop will be held on Wednesday, May 25 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the North Shore Yacht Club located at 73 Orchard Beach Boulevard. A continental breakfast will be served at 9:30 a.m. Lunch will not be provided, but there are places to eat nearby and there is a refrigerator and microwave on premises.

Only 15 participants will be accepted. Please reserve your space as early as possible by emailing [email protected], responding no later than May 22.
