The most anticipated game announcements of E3 2021

Video games are the main headliners at the annual Electronic Entertainment Experience (E3) and there’s plenty of potential game announcements to be excited about including those for titles such as Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2, Halo Infinite and Battlefield 2042.  
 
YouGov partnered with TechRadar to preview excitement among console/PC gamers in the US and Great Britain for potential video game announcements at E3 2021. The votes are now in and Link’s next adventure, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2, captured the top spot as the most anticipated game among American (32{13aab5633489a05526ae1065595c074aeca3e93df6390063fabaebff206207ec}) and British (19{13aab5633489a05526ae1065595c074aeca3e93df6390063fabaebff206207ec}) gamers. 
 
What other titles are American gamers most excited for? In the US, gamers are also excited about the upcoming sequel to God of War (21{13aab5633489a05526ae1065595c074aeca3e93df6390063fabaebff206207ec}) as well as Battlefield 2042 (20{13aab5633489a05526ae1065595c074aeca3e93df6390063fabaebff206207ec}) and Halo Infinite (18{13aab5633489a05526ae1065595c074aeca3e93df6390063fabaebff206207ec}). More than two-thirds of American gamers say they’re excited about at least one of the ten game titles included in the poll (vs. 38{13aab5633489a05526ae1065595c074aeca3e93df6390063fabaebff206207ec} of US adults). 

A slim majority of British gamers say they’re excited about at least one of the games on the list (57{13aab5633489a05526ae1065595c074aeca3e93df6390063fabaebff206207ec}). Two first-person shooters, Battlefield 2042 (15{13aab5633489a05526ae1065595c074aeca3e93df6390063fabaebff206207ec}) and Halo Infinite (13{13aab5633489a05526ae1065595c074aeca3e93df6390063fabaebff206207ec}), are high on the list of most anticipated games among British gamers too.

Hogwarts Legacy, a new RPG adventure game set in the Harry Potter universe, also has the attention of 14{13aab5633489a05526ae1065595c074aeca3e93df6390063fabaebff206207ec} of gamers in Great Britain.

Methodology: The US data is from YouGov Direct and based on the interviews of 1,000 US adults including 498 US adults who say they play console games, PC games, or both. The survey was fielded online on June 10, 2021 between 2:49pm and 6:14pm EST. Results are weighted according to age, gender, education level, political affiliation, and race. The margin of error on the full sample is 4.2{13aab5633489a05526ae1065595c074aeca3e93df6390063fabaebff206207ec}. 
 
The Direct survey conducted in Great Britain is based on the interviews of 1,000 British adults aged 18 and over, including 488 GB adults who say they play console games, PC games, or both. The survey was fielded online on June 11, 2021 between 9:00am and 10:59am BST. Results are weighted according to age, gender, region, education level, and social grade. The margin of error on the full sample is 5.1{13aab5633489a05526ae1065595c074aeca3e93df6390063fabaebff206207ec}.
